Forgive my absence, I’ve gotten most of the college stuff out of the way for myself but I still haven’t found a job.
I will probably not post many books until I am able to buy more, but I will post submissions I get.
I am sorry for the lack of updates
I was just wondering who in Daughter of Smoke and Bone is supposed to be asexual? cause I've read it, and I don't remember any of the characters being ace.
According to singinglupines it is a minor character who is asexual, but they did not mention a name.
Singinglupines said: Her name is Liraz. She mainly is in book 2. I haven’t read book 3 yet so I can’t say for that one.
We’re seeking submissions of Young Adult stories with asexual/aromantic main characters! We’re looking for main characters ages 14-18 who experience positive character growth though the story.
Please see the information in the poster above or check our our submission guidelines.
See a more complete list of what we’re looking for at the original post. And please, give us feedback if there’s something you’d like to see that we’ve left out.
I will boost this as much as possible. Seeing ace stories when I was younger would have made a world of difference, and even now that I’m older and know what I identify as, there still aren’t enough stories about people like me. Kudos to HIP for being so proactive about the representation available through their publishing house.
Friendly reminder that Riptide Publishing has a “Shades of the Rainbow” call until March 2015 for fiction that features trans, nonbinary, and/or ace spectrum characters!
These are open calls, which means you can submit to them without an invitation or any kind of prior contact!
They also have an open call for lesbian novels as well! Give them all the lesfic!
Submit here: http://asexualityresources.tumblr.com/submit
Feel free to reblog even if you aren’t asexual to signal boost so we can get as many photos as possible.
Title: Daughter of Smoke & Bone
Author: Laini Taylor
Genre: Young Adult/Fantasy
Summary: Around the world, black handprints are appearing on doorways, scorched there by winged strangers who have crept through a slit in the sky.
In a dark and dusty shop, a devil’s supply of human teeth grown dangerously low.
And in the tangled lanes of Prague, a young art student is about to be caught up in a brutal otherwordly war.
Meet Karou. She fills her sketchbooks with monsters that may or may not be real; she’s prone to disappearing on mysterious “errands”; she speaks many languages—not all of them human; and her bright blue hair actually grows out of her head that color. Who is she? That is the question that haunts her, and she’s about to find out.
When one of the strangers—beautiful, haunted Akiva—fixes his fire-colored eyes on her in an alley in Marrakesh, the result is blood and starlight, secrets unveiled, and a star-crossed love whose roots drink deep of a violent past. But will Karou live to regret learning the truth about herself?
Currently available on Amazon, Barns and Nobel, and Books a Million
Head’s up, it’s a minor character that is asexual in this series (not the main), and she features more prominently in the second book. This is a most excellent series! Very creative!
The main character Karou has a love interest, and she has sex with some jerk aka ex-bf who then she proceeds to try and evade. There’s a lot of courting in the sequel by another creepy dude.
